8 of Horror’s Most Badass Couples

These couples may be drunk in love but they still know how to kick some serious ass.

*Note: I tried to only pick couples from films who were actually indeed couples. Enjoy!

Emma & John from The Last House on the Left (2009)
This awesome onscreen duo took revenge into their own hands as they whooped some serious ass. The garbage disposal scene was just plain gruesomely awesome and the fact that they did together made it all the more thrilling. They may look like your ordinary innocent husband and wife but really, they know how to pack a punch.

Chucky & Tiffany from Bride of Chucky (1998) & Seed of Chucky (2004)
Even though this couple was really a love/hate relationship half the time, they are still one badass couple. I mean, c’mon just look at ’em.

Oskar and Eli from Let the Right One In (2008)
Perhaps one of the most mature younger couples out there, Oskar and Eli were quite a pair. Although Eli was nowhere near your ordinary girl next door, she still knew how to show her love.

539w

Mickey & Mallory from Natural Born Killers (1994)
As crazy as they both were, they still make a great fucked up couple (didn’t know how else to word it!).

eden lake 2

Steve and Jenny from Eden Lake (2008)
Although this couple was pretty much doomed from the start, the fight they put up was impressive.

Seth & Polly from Splinter (2008)
Although these two seem a bit mismatched for each other, they really were great together. How they outsmarted a crazy creature that they knew absolutely nothing about makes them pretty damn badass.

Julie & Ray from I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) & I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998)
These guys may be the cheesiest couple from the list but they also seemed to be the most driven to survive. Not only did they survive the crazed Ben Willis once but they also defeated him again in the sequel.

Jim & Selena from 28 Days Later (2002)
During the apocalypse what better time than any to fall in love?

Ah, Julie and Ray in “I Know What You Did Last Summer,” cheesy indeed. I can’t count the number of times I mockingly imitated Freddie Prinze Jr.’s delivery of, “I love you, Julie; nobody gets me like you do.” Now I’m gonna wander over to my DVD shelf to look for another couple I’d suggest for such a list…

…And I’m back to sing the praises of two couples from James Whale’s adaptation of “The Old Dark House”: Philip and Margaret Waverton get through the night and rebuild their broken relationship with an unconquerable mix of compassion and stiff-upper-lip, while Roger Penderel and Gladys DuCane meet, fall in love, and entriely transform each others’ lives while surrounded by horror.

You should check out Chris and Tina in Sightseers! They’re far from bad-ass but they are one of the funniest horror couples I’ve ever experienced!
