Good article. As a huge fan of The Twilight Zone I have noticed so many films over the years have used elements that were taken from this series. Alfred Hitchcock Presents as well. The one that stuck out to me on your list was In the Mouth of Madness. I have seen the film, but I don’t remember seeing the episode A World All His Own. I am going to check it out this weekend.
Even The Langoliers by Stephen King is similar to The Odyssey of Flight 33 episode. But to be fair, The Twilight Zone did take some of its plots from older short stories and a film called Dead of Night from 1945. And Alfred Hitchcock Presents debuted in 1955 before Twilight Zone did in 1959, so I’m sure there was some influence there as well. Great article! Many don’t even realize that a lot of these plots are not original, which bugs me.
I remember when Real Steel came out. I’m pretty sure they were very open about it being based on an episode of Twilight Zone.
