Last year your Los Angeles Zombie Girl posted a Top 13 list of gifts that zombie lovers would eat up for Christmas! For the 2016 season I decided to be a little broader with my choices. This years list is gifts for horror lovers in general. Please keep in mind this is just a list, they are not in any order. No one item is better than another and there are soooo many other amazing items out there too! These are just a few things that I personally love! So please, enjoy the Los Angeles Zombie Girl’s 2016 Gift Guide for the Horror or Zombie Lover in your life!
Revenant FX Zombie/Horror Character Gnomes- RevenantFX.com I have been drooling over these little creatures for a while now. Revenant FX makes amazing zombie gnomes, horror film inspired gnomes and super detailed horror masks! Just one look at their website and the hard part will be to decide which one(s) you can’t live without! Bring the infection home to your garden today!
Hand Painted Christmas Ornaments from Ginger Pots on Storenvy.com I have seen many different sites with painted ornaments but this was my fav. From Jack and Sally, to Freddy Kreuger these mini works of art are painted on 2.5 inch glass ball ornaments. Ginger Pots have their own unique designs and are all individually painted in acrylic and ink pens. The paint has been sealed with a polyurethane spray. Perfect for any tree or that special black tree like I have!
Jack of the Dust: Skulls and Skeletons at Jackofthedust.com These skeletons are truly works of art. I had the hardest time trying to pick out a couple to show you here. The Skull Lord makes such diverse versions of skulls and skeletons: from flowers to super heroes, crystals to melting gold. You have to go to the website and look over all his super unique designs yourself. Not inexpensive, but you will never see any skulls more beautiful than these! I need one badly!!
Terror Threads: Horror T-Shirts, Sweatshirts, phone cases and more from TerrorThreads.com. Terror Threads should be everyone’s go-to for Horror T-Shirts, phone cases, stickers, pins, posters, masks, mugs and even trading cards. Their constantly updated inventory will make you want something new everyday! I myself am enjoying my new The Shining inspired “Here’s Santa” ugly Christmas sweatshirt! If you follow them on Instagram you will always know what the latest new items are!
Little Shop of Gore at Littleshopofgore.com Little Shop of Gore is the brainchild of two artists in love with their craft and each other. I’ve met these two talents at many horror conventions and watched their business grow. Salina Kyle is a self taught painter and sculptor with a background in animation. She is the concept artist for most of the shop’s creations. Ryan Ward is a professionally trained special effects and makeup artist.
They specialize in creepy collectibles, devilish decor, horror pins, horror themed storage boxes and more ghoulish goodies! (all hand-made) At every show where I’ve seen them, they sell out almost daily, and are up all night making more to sell; Their creations are that much fun! Commission work welcomed.
Turkey Merck Creature Mugs from TurkeyMerck.com The mugs and other ceramic items that artist Turkey Merck makes were my last years favorite and he has become a world-wide phenomenon since then. His zombie and monster mugs are hand made and truly beautiful in a horrific and gory sort of way. Each custom cast art mug is created using the very best stoneware and ceramic glazes available. After demolding, each mug is hand-altered and then custom glazed, ensuring that each mug is completely unique. I own one of his zombie mugs myself, and will always love it. It may be too late to get one of his beauties for Christmas, but if you gift a photo and tell you horror fan the real thing is on the way soon, they will not be disappointed!
Dreadful Little Things Horrific Dolls: at Dreadfullittlethings.com This is another example of some of the great stuff I find at horror conventions. Dreadful Little Things gives old dolls a new “afterlife” by taking used dolls and turning them into one of a kind little nightmares. No two dolls are alike, so each creep takes on it’s own personality. I have her Little Bo Peep doll in my office and when my friends kids come over they close the door- she is too scary for them. They also accept custom orders- Do you have a particular monster or design you’d like to see in doll form? Send Dreadful Little Things a special request and she’ll do her best to accommodate your wishes.
Horrornaments – Horror themed ornaments: at horrornaments.com These awesome little ornaments are created by a horror enthusiast and haunted attraction owner. Each ornament is designed with chilling detail and artistry for true fans of fear. Perfect stocking stuffers for the black Christmas tree owner in your life. (or me!)
Edyn Rashae Studio – Amazing Masks: at EdynRashaeStudios These hand-made, from sculpt to finished masks, are to die for!! Artists Edyn Rashae and Ghoul Hectic Clownie, make these one at a time. No two are exactly alike and you can get custom orders too, of course! Check out their website and Instagram. There is even a great video showing how they make them. You will be impressed!
Demented Designs OC: at dementeddesignsoc.com I have to mention this fun little shop in Orange, Ca. Not only do they have the coolest gifts and clothing you will ever find- I sell my zombie dolls there too! Go to their website to see many of the great items available or PM the store owner on Facebook or Instagram. If you live in the Orange County area- this is a must stop store for gifts all year round.
Zombie Film Cell at Lucky Monkey Gifts Lucky Monkey Gifts- Original 35mm film cells from your favorite movies. Each high quality piece is framed with a black and white film strip style photo montage, with it’s own individually numbered engraved plaque. Of course my favorite is The Walking Dead– but there are so many other movies to pick from.
Horror themed ornaments and figurines at: Abbybelle I currently have two Abbybelle ornaments on my black tree (this kitty is one of them) and sitting in front of it is one of my favorite figurines. Hand-made from paperclay, you will fall in love with all their creations! Very inexpensive for the work involved- all horror fans need some Abbybelle characters in their lives!
Magnetic Zombie Poetry Kit at Magneticpoetry.com Open up this box of magnetic poetry and release an army of zombies on your fridge. It contains over 200 word magnets relevant to the interests of zombies and survivors alike. Write a haiku for the half-dead, a couplet about corpses, a sonnet about surviving. Best of all, you can mix and match your Zombie Magnetic Poetry with other Magnetic Poetry kits. Get writing before we all die horrible deaths.
Ugly Christmas Sweaters: at Holiday Fury This site has the best selection of fun and sometimes very inappropriate Ugly Christmas Sweaters out there! Be the life of the Christmas party with one of these sweaters!
All of the sites mentioned also have Facebooks and/or Instagrams. Please look them up! Have fun and let me know your favorites!!
