“Chainsaw Maid” Brings Zombie Apocalypse in Claymation

Playdough has never seemed more nauseating!

Here’s something to get your Friday off to a roaring start! Big thanks to the folks at Horrifiction for putting this one on my radar!

If you’re anything like me, you grew up watching Claymation TV shows like Gumby, Davey and Goliath, and seasonal specials like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Well, multi-talented filmmaker Lee Hardcastle has created a twisted horror short that has effectively perverted a bunch of my innocent childhood memories: Chainsaw Maid.

Some have noted that Claymation in often inherently nightmarish, as it brings life to inanimate objects (in effect, creating living dolls—[*shudder*]). This is true, but Nagao’s twisted creation is perhaps the most deliberately disturbing and disgusting bit of stop-motion ever conceived. And I fucking love it! See what happens when a sexy clay maid’s day is interrupted by the zombie apocalypse!

Not recommended for anyone with a sensitive gag reflex! Otherwise: Enjoy!
