Directors of indie hit Starry Eyes to take on Mama 2

An indie success story

In 2014, it was hard to ignore the indie phenom that was Starry Eyes. It was arguably the best horror film of the year, surpassing much bigger films with much bigger budgets in terms of story and delivery.  Directed by the team of Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, the film has widely been accepted by many as one of the greatest horror films in recent years, even making it onto my own list of the Top 50 Horror Films of the 21st Century So Far at number 7.

Now, news has broke that they are slated to take on a film of considerably larger budget by directing the sequel to the 2013 paranormal horror film, Mama. Mama saw a couple of feral children brought back to society. But something followed them home. The question becomes who is it that was taking care of the children and is she still around? The movie certainly left room for a sequel and I for one am excited to see it in the hands of talented film makers as we are to see indie creators getting the recognition they deserve!

More news as it develops…
