I got the chance to see a new indie zombie film titled Fetish Factory. The film is about a burlesque dancing club themed after a period before the 80’s. In other words, no electronics like cell phones and such are allowed inside the club. Seems random, but you’ll see where that comes into play. The film starts off introducing us to a variety of very interesting (and sexy) dancers who work at the club and the eccentric clients who frequent it. There are a few stage acts, some scenes in the private rooms, etc. All the while, we are seeing that, outside the club, there seems to be a bit of a zombie problem going on. And, because all of the cell phones are turned off, no one in the club knows about it until it is right on their doorstep!
The movie definitely does not take itself seriously and you shouldn’t either. It’s very tongue in cheek. The cast is fantastic and includes my personal favorite scream queen, the lovely Tristan Risk (who actually happens to be a real burlesque dancer). The movie is zany, with lots of boobs, blood, and real laugh out loud moments of shtick.
Interestingly enough, the very definition of burlesque is a performance combining theater, comedy, satire, and adult entertainment. That description actually fits this film perfectly. Not everyone likes horror comedies. But for those who can, you should definitely check this one out!

I’ll watch it just for Tristan Risk. Sounds good.
