Twisted twins, Masters of the Macabre, and friends to The Blood Shed Jen and Sylvia Soska survive another year today, as the sisters celebrate 33 years of life.
Crawling out of the grave and into the film business with their 2009 debut Dead Hooker in a Trunk, the Soskas have gone on to have one of the most successful careers in recent horror history, directing a segment of ABC’s of Death 2, orchestrating Jacob Goodnights fateful return in See No Evil 2, and creating one of my favorite horror films of the past decade with American Mary.
The sisters have also been exceedingly kind to The Blood Shed, even hosting the first ever Golden Rakes. And with a remake of David Croenbergs Rabid on the horizon, and what’s sure to be a lifetime of filmmaking in front of them, the twisted twins have nowhere to go but up. So Happy Birthday Soskas! May it be as every bit joyful as your films are terrifying.
