If Burton Did Disney

Artist Andrew Tarusov’s latest series gives Disney flicks a Gothic makeover.

Russian born artist and animator Andrew Tarusov draws inspiration from comic books and pinups.  His clients include Cosmopolitan, Maxim, and Rolling Stone.  His latest series (brought to my attention by the cool people at Geek X Girls) gives kid-friendly Disney films a Gothic makeover; he asked himself: “What if Tim Burton directed all Disney classic movies?”

The results are awesome and a great tribute to Burton’s signature cinematic aesthetic, a celebration of the whimsical-side of death and darkness.  These look like the kind of movies Wednesday Adams could have grown up on.  Hell, I’m a grown man, but I’d still give some of these an eager look-see (especially Sleeping Beauty in a Frankenstein scenario)!
