Toby Tackett of Think Piece Productions never expected Galaxy Far Away Fest to ever become a recurring festival, but here it is five years later to the date of the first gathering, and it’s going strong.
When asked about how GFAF came about, Toby had this to say; “Initially it was just for fun. A bunch of friends getting together dressing up as our favourite Star Wars characters, getting drunk, and listening to live music. The first year we had so many people crash the gathering, that I decided to do it again the next year but ask for a donation fee since they were drinking all my beer. From there it grew into it’s own thing.”
Over the years they have had some amazing bands in attendance. Among them Desillusion fronted by Westin Halvorson of My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult. Think Piece Productions, Toby’s company handles many of the live music videos for My Life With the Thrill Kill Kult, going on tour with them and capturing the awesomeness for our parched ears and hungry eyes to devour.
This year proves to be just as exceptional as the year’s prior with some new names on the board, and some beloved familiar ones. A Lien Nation will be headlining, and Ahtanum Shore has second billing. Both are incredible bands, and the audience is sure to get a thrill.

If you find yourself in Bow Washington, definitely come check the event out.
It is worth it, consider it a geeky-summer-camp-festival for grownups.
And yes, you read correctly: We will be killing Jar Jar.
