“It” Remake: Pennywise has been cast!

Who the hell is Will Poulter?

Ever since it was announced that True Detectives director Cary Fukunaga was remaking 1990’s It (based on the novel by Stephen King) speculation has been rampant regarding who would be cast as the integral evil clown, Pennywise. Well, horror fans, the wait is over!

Variety just announced that Will Poulter is in negotiations to play Fukunaga’s titular villain. And if you’re anything like me, your first thought is: “Who the hell is Will Poulter?”

Will Poulter, is a 22 year old actor from London most famous for playing dorky virgin Kenny Rossmore in 2013’s We’re the Millers.

It’s really all I can do to withhold my early judgment, especially when my mind is screaming, “How can this guy play Pennywise? He’s just a kid!” Part of me wants to grab Fukunaga by the collar and scream, “What were you thinking?!?”

Of course, this is pretty much exactly how I felt when I first heard that Heath Ledger would be playing The Joker, and that choice certainly shut my mouth! Nothing left to do now but wait and see!

This is an interesting choice. I only know him from The Chronicles of Narnia, and that he is British.

I’m willing to give him a chance, but I’m seriously shocked that they picked an actor who’s so fucking YOUNG!
