40 years ago the blockbuster was single-handily crafted by the now legendary Stephen Spielberg when Jaws swam into theaters. Based on the infamous novel by Peter Benchley, Jaws was a monster success, at the time the highest grossing horror film ever, and today a well loved and well revered classic.
Now Jaws is swimming back to theaters as a Fathom Event, and while its not the ultimate way to see the movie ( I had the fun experience of watching it floating in a pool a few summers ago) it beats the hell out of your smartphone. With a special introduction by TCM’s Ben Mankiewicz (the man who introduces many Fathom re-releases of classic movies) there really is no reason to not go on one more dip.
