A lot of fans do, as Trevorrow suggests, seem to get up in arms about the idea of the series moving away from “real” dinosaurs. I find that reaction absurd. The previous sequels have largely proven that once you’d done “people trapped with dinosaurs,” you need to take it someplace new if you’re going to expand the series. Frankly, I suspect that they’d have been better served creatively by doing a re-make than making another sequel, but a sequel is what they decided upon, so they might as well do something interesting. If anything, I don’t think they’re going nearly far enough. I always liked the rumors/leaks about the John Sayles JP4 draft, with intelligent, armed dinosaurs. Doing Jurassic Park sequels has always seemed like a pretty stupid idea to me, and the only real justification I could see was if one was going to go SO far outside the original box as to make a movie that was completely insane. I think they should be trying to piss off the purists. 🙂
Doesn’t look anywhere near big enough to be anymore interesting than the others. Judging by the (not very satisfying) Lego pictures I’d say they should add 50-65% in both width, height and length to make it interesting.
