Kansas Declares October “Zombie Preparedness Month”

Notes to zombies: avoid Kansas

As the inevitable collapse of society to the masses of the living dead beckons on the horizon, Kansas has stepped up to the plate to set an example. The state, previously famous for their witch-slayers and red footwear, has decided to extend their expertise in dealing with the supernatural to zombies. State officials have announced that October is statewide “Zombie Preparedness Month”.

The CDC (Center for Disease Control) has previously given a public statement regarding the ever present threat of the zombie apocalypse with this statement:

“There are all kinds of emergencies out there that we can prepare for. Take a zombie apocalypse for example. That’s right, I said z-o-m-b-i-e a-p-o-c-a-l-y-p-s-e. You may laugh now, but when it happens you’ll be happy you read this.”

The CDC went on to say:

“So what do you need to do before zombies…or hurricanes or pandemics for example, actually happen? First of all, you should have an emergency kit in your house. This includes things like water, food, and other supplies to get you through the first couple of days before you can locate a zombie-free refugee camp”

Zombie Preparedness Month will include public meetings in Kansas where people will be briefed on what to do when the zombie apocalypse happens. Emergency supplies will also be handed out at the end of the month.
