Legendary just loves giant monsters! They gave us Pacific Rim (and announced a sequel) and Godzilla (also slated for a sequel) and now they are bringing us a movie focusing on the home of famous giant ape King Kong with the new film Skull Island!
Says Legendary: “Previous works have touched on the island, but staying on and exploring this mysterious and dangerous place offers Legendary the opportunity to take audiences deeper inside this rich world with a style and scope that parallels other Legendary productions,”
They go on to say that Universal will distribute the film on November 4, 2016.
The film will be written by Max Borenstein (Godzilla) and directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (The Kings of Summer). And, get this, the film will star everyone’s favorite Norse god of trickery, Tom Hiddleston!
Fans speculate that Legendary showing interest in King Kong could be an indication of a Godzilla vs King Kong film down the line at some point. My question is, “Will we ever see either The King of the Monsters or the 8th Wonder of the World fight a Jager?” Only time will tell!
