New Character Details Released on the Friday the 13th Reboot

Producer Brad Fuller shines new light into Friday the 13th reboot film.

It has been revealed that the infamous Mrs. Voorhees will make her return in the new Friday the 13th reboot film, which was something that was lacking in the 2009 remake. Mrs. Voorhees only appeared in a small segment of the film, with not nearly enough screen time to satisfy the die-hard Friday the 13th fans.

Brad Fuller, a producer on the new film, from Platinum Dunes is looking to rectify what was missing in the 2009 version and plans to include Mrs. Voorhees as one of the more prominent characters which Fuller stated in a recent interview with Omelete.

It was also recently been announced that the new film will most likely take place in the ’80s which will aide in the telling of Jason and Mrs. Voorhees troubled relationship. As to be expected, film makers plan on maintaing an ‘R’ rating for the film because they are going to feature “sex, drugs and beautiful people dying” as stated by Fuller.

As far as we know, the film is projected to have a November 13, 2015 release date but Fuller did not confirm that in the interview. Stay tuned to the Shed for more details on the film as they are released.

Your right on about Mrs. Voorhees getting glossed over in the 2009 remake. It’s like, Part 1 and Part 2 were covered in the credits and the film actually begins as a reboot of Part 3. Wasted opportunities to really get into the nitty-gritty of Jason’s upbringing. Glad Fuller plans to remedy that.
