Resident Evil on the Small Screen with Arklay TV Series!

Umbrella is at it again.

In early development by studio Mance Media is, apparently, a Resident Evil TV series! The series is titled Arklay, after the Arklay Mountains near Raccoon City, the location of the initial entries in the RE game series. These mountains contained the mansion that was a lab for the evil Umbrella Corporation and served as the setting for the first game.

The video games focus on the concept of B.O.W.’s, or Bio Organic Weapons, developed by the Umbrella Corporation using, among others, the T Virus. Accidents happen and the virus gets loose, turning people (and animals, even plants) into zombies.

This series is being written by one Shawn Christopher Lebert and the official pitch is:

When Detective James Reinhardt is thrust into a series of bizarre homicides, he unravels the city is hiding a dark conspiracy. Learning a fatal virus is connected to it all, Reinhardt discovers it’s already coursing through him. With time no longer on his side, he must solve the conspiracy to save his own life.

And they already have a pitch reel! It contains footage from other shows, indicating the “tone” that they want the series to take
