Perhaps one of the most infamous internet-crafted urban legends, Slender Man has gained much fandom over the years. Originally created by a random user in a Something Awful forum contest, the concept of the supernatural entity has taken off in numerous Creepasta stories and YouTube series. A few Indie films have been made but nothing has yet to hit the big screen.
However, according to Comicbook.com, it has been confirmed that Screen Gems is developing a Slender Man film. Set to hit theaters in 2017, the script has already been penned by David Birke (13 Sins).
For Slender Man fans like myself, I am pretty excited to see where this project goes. The most popular of Slender films has been ‘Always Watching’ which I most definitely liked, but did not love. I think the idea of the legend definitely has quite a bit of potential when it comes to making a terrifying story.
