There Will Be A ‘Gathering’ In Purgatory

There's only one way you can leave....

Jon Keeyes has been getting his latest project, The Gathering, together for a few years now.  He recently shared some casting news.  Simon Pegg from Shaun of the Dead and World’s End has been cast as the Devil.  The film centers on some of horror’s most iconic authors, H.P. Lovecraft (David Naughton), Mary Shelly (yet to be cast) Bram Stoker (Doug Bradley) and Edgar Allen Poe (Jeffrey Combs) who find themselves in Purgatory.  The only way these authors can leave is if they tell their best untold stories.

I’m always up for an anthology movie.  This cast will definitely bring some flavor to this project.  I’m curious as to see how Pegg plays the Devil. I loved Combs as Poe in Masters of Horror: The Black Cat, so I’m excited to see him reprising the role.  I think it’ll have laughs and scares.  This is one horror that will entertain everyone who sees it.

The Gathering will be possibly be released in May.

Sounds fantastic! Doug Bradley + Jeffrey Combs = much awesomeness. Not to mention those are all stellar authors.
